Film reviews from major Hollywood Blockbusters to Art House cinema and everything in between.
TCFF
The Traverse City Film Festival is held each year in beautiful northern Michigan. The festival was founded in 2005 by documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, creator of Roger & Me and Oscar winning Bowling for Columbine. Each year the festival has grown in the number of films shown, attendance and stature. The venues are spectacular. There are five in all, including the magnificent State Theater. Four of the five sites are within walking distance of each other and there is also a free shuttle that stopped at each theater and two parking lots (one free) that run every 5-15 minutes. But the best part of the festival is the price. The shows are all reasonably priced and the concessions are very cheap. The event is clean, the volunteers are helpful and the films are top notch. I haven’t been to any other festivals but I have to imagine that the Traverse City Film Festival is quickly becoming one of the best festivals in America and possibly the world.
